Accessing your Smilii mailbox is easy as pie! You can use your mailbox for sending and receiving emails. There are two main ways to do it:
-
Via the webmail interface: You simply use your web browser to connect to your Smilii email account - we use Roundcube for our webmail.
-
Using an email client program: You can set up an email client program on your computer, phone, or tablet to access your emails.
Setting Up Email Clients
Don't worry, setting up an email client doesn't have to be complicated. Smilii can automatically configure certain email clients such as Microsoft Office Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and more. This feature is known as 'mail autodiscover.' It does all the work for you, setting up the necessary protocols, servers, and ports - this means that your email will work perfectly right out of the box, no matter where you set it up.
But keep in mind, not all domain configurations support this autodiscover feature. If yours doesn't, or you prefer to use a different email client, you can manually set up your email client.
Typically, you'll need to provide the following details:
-
Username: Your full email address goes here, such as [email protected].
-
Password: The password you created for your Smilii email account.
-
Mail server protocol: Choose between IMAP and POP3. If you want to keep copies of your messages on the server, go with IMAP. If you'd rather not keep them on the server, choose POP3. IMAP also allows you to train the spam filter on your received emails.
-
Incoming mail server (POP3/IMAP): Just type in your domain name here. For instance, example.com. The POP3 port number is 110, and for IMAP, it's 143.
-
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Again, enter your domain name. The port for SMTP is 25. This server requires authentication.
To find the specific settings necessary for setting up an email client, follow these steps: Go to 'Websites & Domains,' choose the domain for the email account you wish to access, click on 'Mail Accounts,' and then click on the icon.
For the technically minded, here are the supported mail protocols: Incoming: POP3, POP3 over SSL/TLS, IMAP, IMAP over SSL/TLS Outgoing: SMTP
For secure connections, use the following port numbers: POP3 via SSL/TLS: 995 IMAP via SSL/TLS: 993 SMTP securely: 465
Now, you're all set up to send and receive emails through your Smilii mailbox!
